National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM)
TAMUS originally established the NCTM in 2009 with the support of the State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund. This facility is an innovative biopharmaceutical education center and cGMP therapeutic manufacturing facility. The pharmaceutical manufacturing component of the NCTM is operated by FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas, LLC, which is a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) and represents a key partner and subcontractor for the Center. The goals of the Center in the NCTM are to:

•    Manufacture and develop non-influenza based medical countermeasures
•    Train and educate the next generation of public health professionals through the Workforce Development Program

Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Facility (PIF)
The Center is working to design, construct, and operate a dedicated influenza vaccine facility called the Pandemic Influenza Vaccine Facility (PIF). This facility will also be operated by FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies Texas, LLC and will provide the Center's Influenza Partners the necessary capabilities to manufacture seasonal influenza vaccines.

Beyond the manufacture of seasonal flu vaccines, the Center will also actively develop vaccines towards pandemic influenza strains that will ultimately contribute to maximal surge capacity as the Center will be capable of producing up to 50 million influenza vaccine doses within four months of notification from the US Government.

Live Virus Vaccine Facility (LVVF)
The Center is also working to design, construct, and operate a Live Virus Vaccine Facility (LVVF). The LVVF will afford the Center enhanced manufacturing capabilities enabling advanced development of vaccines in live virus production platforms.

Collectively, the three unique facilities will be able to rapidly provide critical vaccines and therapeutics to the U.S. population at significantly reduced costs through the implementation of innovative and flexible technologies.
